Irene Jendzjowsky Receives the UCC Alberta Hetman Award
The 10th Annual Hetman Awards Banquet honoring outstanding volunteer leaders for their significant contributions to the Ukrainian community was held in Edmonton on Sunday, October 5, 2008. This year our CYM President, Irene Jendzjowsky was honoured with the HETMAN AWARD given out by the UCC Alberta Provincial Council.
UYA Congratulates Newly Elected Ukrainian World Congress President Eugene Czolij
The Ukrainian Youth Association of Canada (UYA) congratulates and welcomes Eugene Czolij as the newly elected President of the Ukrainian World Congress. Eugene Czolij was elected by delegates to the IX World Congress of Ukrainians which took place in Kyiv, Ukraine on August 20-22, under the motto “Ukraine remembers – the World Acknowledges.”

In year 2008, the UKRAINIAN YOUTH ASSOCIATION OF CANADA is commemorating
its 60th Anniversary. To commemorate and celebrate this important milestone, the National Executive commissioned a limited edition lithograph-print of Archangel Michael, the patron Saint of the UYA and Kyiv, the capital city of Ukraine, by well-known Ukrainian-Canadian artist Bohdan Holowacki.
